 Hplip for HP printers
  • Download the hplip package from following link.
Click here to download
  • Copy the file to Desktop
  • Right click on a blank space
  • Select "Open in Terminal"
  • Type the following command and press enter key

sudo su

  • Give password and  type the following command. Press enter key


sh hplip-3.18.6.run



Note that internet connection is needed.

Connect the printer and switch it on.



  • After finishing the installation:
         -Click Application--System tools ---Preferences--- System Settings ---Printers and click on Add.
        -The printer will have automatically detected
        -Select the printer and proceed with on screen instructions until "Print a Test Page" appears
